Frequently Asked Questions by Verity Translations Clients

Here are a handful of questions that may assist in your enquiries about professional translations.. Of course, don’t hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.

What Services Does Verity Provide?

We translate words in whichever format they appear: software, documentation, websites. In addition we ensure that the localised document stays true to the original’s formatting and style. Just send us the files you require translated and we’ll take care of the rest. Check out services page to see our specialities.

What Software Programs Does Verity Use?

To facilitate and support the translation process, we use commercial computer assisted translation (CAT) tools specific to the task: one is suited to software localisation while another is used for general documentation. The CAT tools import text from the source file(s) and break it into segments (defined by either sentences, paragraphs or other units). The translator then has access to a range of built-in tools such as spell checkers, terminology databases and translation memory for promoting consistency within the project and across related projects.
Translation memory is a database of source segments and corresponding translations for a given project. When a source document is updated, it can then be easily and economically translated again by applying the stored translations as a first pass which is then checked by a human translator, instead of all words being translated from scratch for each update.
Terminology databases contain glossary terms, ensuring translation consistency across the product (e.g. software strings and accompanied user manuals).
These valuable features allow for:

  • processing a variety of source files
  • translation consistency
  • maintaining the formatting of the source file(s)
  • reduced costs
  • quality assurance checks
  • reduced turnaround times
How Much Does Localisation Cost?

Pricing is customised according to the client’s localisation needs. There are no fixed rates due to the many variables involved in each project and the client’s needs. By using innovative localisation technology we optimise the translation process and transfer these savings onto you. See What localisation technology does Verity offer? for further explanation.

We are active in a highly competitive industry and accordingly always produce highly competitive quotes. Don’t hesitate to contact us for an obligation-free quote. If our quote(s) don’t match another experienced and reputable agency, we’ll beat it by 10%.

Can You Tell Us a Little About Verity Translators?

Our translators are highly experienced and active within the industry: usually tertiary educated and specialised within a technical field according to their qualifications and work experience. They normally live in the target-language country, thus never losing the required intimacy with their mother-tongue.

We use only NAATINational Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters-accredited translators for translating into English. The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters Ltd (NAATI) is the national standards and accreditation body for translators and interpreters in Australia.

Our certified translations team can translate from and into just about any language and its variants. The most common languages we translate into are German, French, Spanish (European and Latin American), Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Dutch and Greek.
